Lady Luck Music has known Johnny Casino (John Maisonet) since the mid ‘70s when he filled in as the lead singer of the Lady Luck Band for a few months. After that we would run into Johnny out of the blue and get involved in show projects, or just plain jams in front of an audience. By the early ‘90s, he was a member of our Elvis Troupe during contests and in ‘96, for our Festival show before 7000 people. He was a true professional and a very talented, very versatile performer - He was John Lennon, Conway Twitty, Roy Orbison, or just Johnny Casino , working the room like a Vegas veteran. He was truly entertaining. He never gave less than what he had to give, he was the most passionate performer we had ever seen.
We hadn’t spoke to Johnny for over 3 years at the time of his death. Show business pressures always left us in conflict after a project. Then we would meet up accidentally a few years later and try something new, like we were all the best of friends. We never imagined that we would never do another show with Johnny Casino. We offer our deepest sympathies to his wife April, who we also haven’t seen in too long a time. I don’t know what her plans are for Johnny’s site, but you should visit it, www.johnnycasino.com
You can hear Johnny singing with us there, the live clips at a bar, that’s us backing him up. He was such a pleasure to back, always ready, always giving 100% . Goodbye Johnny, from all your friends and fans we have come to know over the years.

That’s Johnny in the gold suit standing on the right of CBC’s Avril Benoit (with mic) on Canadian National TV at the finals of one of our original contests.

And there’s Johnny, 3rd from left after performing a show with us.
