He's performed his tribute show across the US since that time and has won more contests, the crowds love him, but the funny thing is that his own family hadn't seen him perform - until Nashville, that is! Shawn was very surprised to find out that about 30 of his relatives, some of whom he hadn't seen in 18 years, drove distances of up to 9 hours to come see him perform in Nashville. It was very emotional and in speaking with his parents, I'm sure it choked him up as much as it did me to hear how proud they were of him. We had a ball sharing stories and learned that Shawn's always loved music and is a very versatile musician. He loves composing, playing guitar and drums and singing with local church bands. It was also touching to hear him talking to cousins he hadn't seen in a while. Touching base with your stage family is pretty cool too and Shawn got along with his peers. When it was time for Shawn to get on the stage to perform, he didn't let anyone down, in fact he blew the audience away - family included! Decked out in the GI outfit complete with duffel bag, he set the tone for yet another well loved Elvis era, which was appreciated by all. In fact, the crowd enjoyed him so much, they voted him the Peoples Choice of the 60's tribute.
