With Southern hospitality at it's most gracious, Nashville not only bade all visitors welcome, but helped to ensure the success of the 1st annual "International King Of Kings Peoples Choice Awards". From the moment the guests arrived at the charming Clubhouse Inn & Suites on Atrium Way, they felt like they were home. The staff was very accommodating, they did a great job setting up for the Friday night pre-party in the Terrace Room and virtually allowed all of us to take over the conference room, lobby & dining area 24/24... until the spirit of "Elvis" had left the building! Most everyone had a chance to tour Nashville & the tourist attractions from Opryland to downtown and the beautiful landscaping (& construction,LOL) in between and some made it all the way to Graceland in Memphis, either before or after the "Nashville" experience. The Gibson Showcase Theatre took our breath away - wow! What an ambiance and what a spectacular layout, like a touch of Vegas in a down home setting and we couldn't wait for showtime! Three tiers of seats and tables arranged in a horseshoe type semi-circle with the stage at the base of it, a two story high ceiling, great sight lines and not a bad seat in the house. Gibson catered to hungry patrons in their fantastic buffet style restaurant, and the thirsty had two beautiful bars to order from. The acoustics were also fantastic! The spacious building also housed the Gibson work shop and retail store and just walking through these annexes alone was a musicians (or aspiring musician's) dream come true! Add to this picture the Gibson's welcoming staff of managers, ushers, security, waitresses, technicians & more; 600 excitable Elvis fans (which included many visitors from various States and Canada) who were ready to party; the beautiful display of Elvis' suits by B & K jumpsuits (out of Nashville); nine very talented & entertaining ETAs; a great band; two very amicable MC's - and you've got yourself one of the hottest tickets in town! The crowd took the voting part of the event very seriously and though they enjoyed the entertainment tremendously, they stared intently at all the ETAs, searching for that special "something" that reminded them of Elvis. So who would be crowned the Rock & Roll Kings? Read more on the show, each ETAs performance, take a look at some fun of the times we shared captured by "Patsy's Pics" and friends please read a special message about Patsy Parker.
