TRAVIS LEDOYT,Songs of Inspiration.” Sponsored by the Love for Elvis Fan Club, Richmond Hill, Ontario. December 2003.

Christmas came a little early for those delighted fans who attended the “Songs of Inspiration” Concert on December 21. It was the Canadian debut of Elvis tribute artist Travis LeDoyt, all the way from Tennessee. And what a treat! Picture a spectacular church sanctuary aglow with Christmas lights and candles...centre stage a lone piano ...the haunting, rich voice of JD Sumner singing “Precious Memories” and then Travis entering and sitting at the piano for over two hours, playing songs of the season, gospel selections and many other of Elvis’ ‘50's songs – even taking requests from the enthralled audience. It was a truly inspirational evening! You could just imagine you were in the living room as Elvis played for his Christmas guests back in the ‘50's. Not only is Travis the spitting image of the “young Elvis,” but he has the same good-natured humour and boyish charm. For the finale, the audience members lit candles and joined in as Travis sang “Silent Night.” Thank you, Travis, for this wonderful, endearing performance and for bringing Christmas to Canada! We hope you’ll be back very soon. Wendy King, Barrie, Ontario.

HARVEY MCFADDEN, American Legion, New Caney, Texas. Recent Show

I have been an Elvis fan since at least 1956. I had the honor and privilege of seeing Elvis perform ten times beginning in Feb.1970 and ending in August 1976. Recently in our local newspaper I read that three ETA's would be performing at one of our town halls in New Caney, TX. I decided that to support an Elvis event I would attend this show. Harvey McFadden was one of those performers. I was so impressed with the fact that Harvey concentrated on singing some of the more obscure songs that Elvis sang, songs from the movie years. Not only did he sing these songs, he did them exceptionally well. After the performance I also found that Harvey is a truly sincere, nice person who is an Elvis fan as well as a Tribute Artist. I have continued to attend his performances and will continue to do so as long as he chooses to perform his tribute to Elvis and share his great talent with us. What a pleasure! STEVE ROSATI, Spurs Bar, Montreal, Quebec, New Year’s Eve, 2003
Steve Rosati, one of Montreal's most talented performers, does world class tributes to Elton John and the young Neil Diamond. He started out as Elvis and this New Year's Eve in Montreal at LLM's annual party, he brought back his Elvis tribute, stronger and better than ever. His vocals were on the money and he worked the room like a seasoned pro, and the moves..... he has worked with so many fine Elvises in the Legends shows, he must have been taking notes, because his moves were accurate, natural, and very Elvis-like. He did his show in leather, but sang a few songs out of the era to satisfy the sold-out room. He also came back and did his tribute to Neil Diamond. Steve actually sounds like who he is impersonating, and his shows never stop gaining momentum. Also on the bill was Darren Brown, a Garth Brooks impersonator from Ontario who is booked so often in Montreal he now has a fan base here. Lady Luck, Joanna and Jim, also did a rare performance..it was only the third time this year that they actually performed and not just produced, the other two times being with Doug Church and Ryan Pelton. It was a very exciting and enjoyable evening. Anna Watkins, LaSalle, Quebec.

EDDIE MILES, Memories Theatre, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, New Year’s Eve 2003.
The legendary Eddie Miles proved you really can go home again, performing his New Year's Eve Concert, after an absence of over 9 years, to a sold out, enthusiastic audience at Memories Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the theater he started. In his own words it was "deja vu." He was even wearing the same costume he wore on his last performance there! He began his first “country” set with Johnny Rivers’
Seventh Son and when he came to the words “I’m the one,” I thought to myself he really is “The One.” Performing all classics and crowd favorites in both his “country” show and his “Elvis” show in the second set, he wowed the audience for over 3 hours, ending as strong as he began, then staying to greet each and every fan and friend there. With other ETA's in attendance (taking notes!) he showed he has the total package - incredible talent, charisma, intelligence, warmth, and looks. Eddie's New Year's Eve concert at Memories Theater was truly an awesome and MEMORABLE event! Jack & Barbara Luffman, Elkin, North Carolina, USA

CLINT LUCIER, NIGEL PERREIRA, Cainsville Community Centre, Brantford, Ontario, New Years Eve. 2003

Clint and Nigel put on one of the most amazing and stand out performances I have ever seen. These guys are very new to the scene but proved to me that they can play with the big boys. They showed their stellar vocal range with tributes to Elvis for every era! Nigel started off the show with his 50's set. He was dressed to the nines in a gold lame jacket and he worked the crowd with his hip shaking moves...he even brought out his guitar. Clint impressed us all when he did his 60's set...man can this boy sing! He has such power in his voice and it is remarkably Elvis-like. Both guys did a 70s set...what a treat. Nigel looked amazing in a red shirt, black pants, and black belt. He sang his heart out and has a voice like silk. Clint came out in a black velvet shirt, black pants and the red lion belt. His voice filled the room when he belted out his set...he sang more obscure songs which the crowd loved. The picture I have enclosed is one of the guys, who after being bugged all night, gave in to requests and did a duet...Kissin’ Cousins!! Yvonne Bonnah provided sound and sang during the guys’ breaks. WOW! She has one of the finest voices I have ever heard and impressed the whole room with her versions of songs by the Supremes, Patsy Cline, etc. All the performers had the crowd up dancing..I dont think we ever stopped! These ETAs put on an amazing evening for us complete with a fabulous show, awesome food and the kindness they showed when they interacted with every fan in the room. What a great start to the New Year! If you have the chance to go out and see these guys it will be well worth your while...watch out for these two! Amanda Baker, Hamilton, Ontario

JOHN LOOS, Ontario, New Year’s Eve 2003

John Loos put on another amazing show on New Year’s Eve. All of us there were absolutely thrilled that he put on a show so close to home. If you haven’t seen John perform lately you are truly missing out. His voice just keeps getting better and better all the time. His moves are outstanding and he had all the women screaming with delight when he gave that wicked grin. His Elvis tribute is one of the most authentic I have ever seen and his show is well rounded...this guy has the whole package! You can tell this guy is in it for his fans too. He doesn’t stop until the last fan has had the chance to speak to him personally and he is always there to sign autographs. You can clearly see that he loves what he is doing and wants all of his fans leaving his show to feel that they have experienced something special. I cant wait to see John perform again...dont miss the chance if you get it! David Beal, Kitchener, Ontario

Eddie Miles, Derby Dinner Playhouse, Clarksville, Indiana. January 2004

I saw Eddie’s concert at the Derby Dinner Playhouse in Clarksville, Indiana. The performance was very, very entertaining. Eddie has such charm and grace. His songs were wonderful and he looked and sang like "The King." He’s Elvis made over. He keeps his body fit and looks good for his fans and sings wonderfully. He entertained you with funny stories and made you feel like you knew him as a friend at home instead of a person in the crowd. He seems to sing to each one in the crowd. He’s a great performer and a fine artist and a tribute to himself as a star and the person he is "acting like.” I'm sure he could do anything and be great at it. Thank you Eddie for your shows and your music. I will be back to hear Eddie again and bring new fans with me. God must have given him that talent to make people happy because he does a great job of it. J. S. Copas, Kentucky, USA

PAUL TORREZ, Isle of Capri Casino, $50,000 Contest, Lake Charles, Louisiana. January 2004.
I wanted to share my exciting weekend with all the ELVIS fans out there. I attended the 3rd annual “$50,000 Tribute to the King Contest” at the Isle of Capri Casino in Lake Charles, Louisiana on January 10. I was truly amazed at all of the talent that the contestants possessed. I was in awe for the entire show and I have great respect for all who participated. I wanted to say how especially impressed I was with the 5th contestant, Mr. Paul Torrez. The Friday night, before the show, they had a “Meet and Greet” cocktail party with the ETA’s and Paul was very nice and down to earth. He walked around introducing himself, and that is how I got to meet him. He had a great, super nice personality to go with all his talent. I really want to express to him what a wonderful show I thought he performed. Paul does the jumpsuit years and a great job, too! He has the looks, the voice (so good and Elvis-like) and the moves! I wish him much continued success with his talent and hope it takes him to higher places....he deserves it! I hope to be able to catch another one of his shows.. Thanks again Paul, for such an entertaining evening. Pamela Dutro, Lumberton, Texas, USA

ROBIN KELLY, Copper Room, Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa, Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia. January 2004.

This appearance in the Copper Room was Robin's first time in over a year to perform in British Columbia. Right from the beginning, Robin gave an absolutely marvelous performance! His moves had the crowds belting out loud cheers of encouragement for more. He has such charisma and showed the crowd what a friendly and personable Elvis tribute artist he is! When appearing for the second set of the show in his sexy black leathers, the women really started to whoop it up. Singing songs such as Viva Las Vegas and Little Sister, Robin got the crowds up dancing enthusiastically! Having seen Robin perform in Collingwood in 2003, I can say he is truly a champion and if you haven't seen him yet, make 2004 the year you do - you won't be disappointed! Diane Sawatzky, Chilliwack, British Columbia

SHAWN KLUSH, RYAN PELTON, TRAVIS LEDOYT. Elvis Birthday Tribute Show, Star Plaza, Merrillville, Indiana. January 2004.
This was the first Birthday Tribute Show we’d been to, but it won’t be the last. We really enjoyed it. It was our first time seeing Travis LeDoyt and he blew us away with his talent. He’s definitely a rising star. We felt he did about the best version of
Love Me Tender that we’ve heard an ETA do, and the rest of his 50's Elvis performance, and his piano playing, were just awesome. It was also our first time to see Ryan Pelton. He did selections from the ‘68 Comeback and had two costume changes, wearing the black leather and the white “If I Can Dream” suit. He looked so elegant too!! We especially liked the gospel songs he sang. Travis and Ryan each went out into the audience and the crowd just loved it. We have seen Shawn Klush before and we felt he was stronger than ever and his Vegas years performance was just fantastic. He entered through the audience at the beginning of the second set and could hardly make it to the stage as the fans were mobbing him and taking photos. He can really sing the power songs such as Hurt and My Way and Trilogy. Of course, it was wonderful to see DJ Fontana and the Sweet Inspirations. We were also impressed with how nice and easy to talk to all the performers were afterwards when they were signing photos. Joyce Coates/Liz Mahoney, Waterford, Ontario.

ROBIN KELLY, Frank Sisson’s Silver Dollar Casino, Calgary, Alberta.
January 2004.

I had the most wonderful weekend Jan. 9 & 10 watching the awesome "Robin Kelly One Night With You" show. I am still floating from the wonderful performances Robin gave at BOTH shows. Robin is one well rounded performer and he interacts with the audience so well that all had a great time. The crowd was large both nights and Robin did his best to keep us reliving our Elvis memories with his Tribute to the BEST performer of all time. The sound, the look, the moves and the joking with the audience as I have seen Elvis do in many of his videos are such memories to treasure and Robin keeps bringing new memories and special moments with each show I am lucky enough to see from him. The time Robin spends greeting each person in the audience during his shows and afterwards visiting and signing autograph and taking pictures are treasured by one and all. If you EVER get to see a Robin Kelly show I am sure you will NOT be disappointed and for any fans in the Medicine Hat or Lethbridge, Alberta area Robin will be performing there Jan. 22 or 24 respectively. Check out his website at
www.robinkelly.net for more info and I hope to meet you there. Good luck Robin in all your endeavors in the future and you know you will be seeing me as often as I can arrange it. Thank you for sharing your awesome talent with us. Bev Topliffe, Medicine Hat, Alberta

MEMPHIS MOTION & FRIENDS, Brantford Cares Fundraiser. Army/Navy/Airforce Club. Brantford, Ontario. January 2004.

This fundraiser was for Elaine Szabo and children who lost their home in a fire. I got there at 2 pm and stayed until 10 pm. I had only planned on staying for a few hours but the non-stop tremendous talent and never ending show, kept me there. It was a pleasure to be treated to the talents of ETAs Jeff Marsh, Jimmy "Teddy Bear" Burgin, Heartthrob Steven Pelleriti, Bruce Herron, Peter “Crazy Legs” Schofield and Alex Aaron. What a treat, also, to see Jimmy Burgin do tributes to Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly along with Jeff Marsh doing George Strait. Little Steven Pelleriti brought the house down every time he got up and did an enchanting version of "If I Can Dream." The whole evening was also made so enjoyable with the Emcee talents of Rocking Ronny "Wolfman" Hanly, who had us in stitches all day and night. KUDOS to Joan Minnery, suffering from a horrible cold, but still able to belt out tunes with the awesome Memphis Motion Gals who were sounding and looking fabulous. Other entertainment for the evening--Joanie's Children's Choir, the Whistlers and 3 live bands-- made for a total day of fabulous entertainment and lots of fun. While the weather may have dampened things outside, it didn't affect the energy inside and the love from everyone. The Elvis World continues to shine. Margaret Hughes, Brantford Ontario. RYAN PELTON, SHAWN KLUSH, TRAVIS LEDOYT, Elvis Birthday Tribute Tour, Cleveland, Ohio, January 2004

In a word :“Spectacular”. I had seen Ryan Pelton and Shawn Klush perform before but I had never seen Travis LeDoyt. He was full of spunk, great with the crowd, gave an excellent rendition of Elvis in the fifties. I particularly enjoyed his version of I Was the One, one of my favorites that you don’t see performed very often. Shawn Klush performs the seventies Elvis like no other ETA I’ve seen. He always seems to be enjoying himself on stage and with the crowd. Almost like seeing Elvis himself in the Vegas years! Excellent performance! Ryan Pelton–what can I say? My personal favorite, gorgeous, talented, energetic, almost Elvis incarnate. The last time I saw him perform I talked to some people who had seen Elvis and they told me it gave them goose bumps to watch Ryan, the resemblance and performance so uncanny. What greater compliment can there be of an ETA. Ryan performed an excellent rendition of A Little Less Conversation in the infamous black leather which I thought was going to be my favorite before I saw him come out for his second set. When I heard the Sweet Inspirations start Where Ccould I Go, it was a special treat. When he came out in that ‘68 white suit, I almost had to be picked up off the floor. I loved Elvis’ spirituals and Ryan did them justice, full of energy and feeling. I think, aside from If I Can Dream which is always a classic,I enjoyed Swing Down Sweet Chariot. It couldn’t have been a better show and to see DJ Fontana & the Sweet Inspirations was just icing on the cake. The best part of the show is always after, talking to the performers. They are all so personable and of course Ryan Pelton is so gracious with all the ladies, and, oh yeah, “those baby blues!” Lola Saffioti, Ottawa, Ontario

SHAWN KLUSH, RYAN PELTON, JUSTIN SHANDOR. Elvis Birthday Tribute Show. Taft Theatre, Cincinnati, Ohio. January 2004.
The EBT show in Cincinnati was wonderful! THE BEST!!! Shawn Klush was better than I've ever heard him (and that's saying something!!). Ryan Pelton’s gospel segment in the white suit was just wonderful. He did an awesome recreation of the '68 Comeback!! He has been such a great ““young Elvis”” for most of his career and it’s wonderful to see that he really can perform all eras of Elvis’’ music. Justin Shandor was even better than last year and seemed so confident and comfortable on stage. He definitely is a talented performer! The Sweet Inspirations were a wonderful addition to the show and were so much fun to watch. They sure helped give the guys the original "Elvis sound!" Adding to that sound was D.J. Fontana - it’s always a privilege to see him perform. My friends and I loved the show and had a great time. The newcomer to our group was very impressed with her first "Elvis experience." This was my sixth year there and it just keeps getting better. I'll be anxious to see if they can possibly improve on perfection next year!!

JUSTIN SHANDOR, Elvis Birthday Tribute Show, Taft Theatre, Cincinnati, Ohio. January 2004.
Justin Shandor put on quite a show at the recent Elvis Birthday Tribute show in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the first of three fabulous Elvis Entertainers to appear on stage and what an appearance he made! I don’t think there could possibly be anyone that could sound more like the young Elvis. The moves and mannerisms just seem to come so naturally for him. The crowd loved it when he sang songs from Elvis’ early movies –– our favorites were
Baby I Don’t Care -Got a Lot o’ Livin’ to Do - Mean Woman Blues - Jailhouse Rock. This was young Justin’s second year with the Birthday Tribute Tour. We loved him last year and this year he seemed even more experienced and at ease. He’s definitely an asset to the EBT tour and we’re anxiously awaiting our next opportunity to see him! Fans from Portsmouth Ohio....Haley, Terry, Kelly, Elisabeth, Emily, Jade and Danica
