Elvis Tribute Artists Radio
This is a such a great forum for the reviews of all the fabulous ETA shows around the continent. I just read a great review from the couple in Ajax, Ontario, who caught the ETA’s show in Oshawa on March 26th. There were some great ETA’s at that show and I’m sorry I missed it. Glenn has one of the most beautiful silkiest voices I’ve heard anywhere. He’s almost like Lou Rawls, the king of silky voices.
BUT !!!!
We did catch Tim E & The Yes Men at the beautiful Las Vegas style Greg Frewin theatre in Niagara Falls on Friday, March 31st. We hadn’t seen them for a while and so we were blindsided when they came out on stage with two lovely female backup vocalists, who absolutely complimented the entire show. Tim E’s superb vocal performance, mixed with the perfectly blended backup harmonies, almost took my eyes and ears off the rest of the terrific band (once again), the Yes Men.
THIS was a Las Vegas show. All the elements were there. The Vegas style dinner theatre, the complete band with sax & horn section, those two lovely backup vocalists, who smiled & danced all night long and the piece de resistance, the two Las Vegas showgirls who appeared at each side of the stage, on the popular closing encore number, Viva Las Vegas.
Nice touch on the showgirls, Tim !!
Personally, I think that Tim E & the Y Men should be touring the continent. So many of you out there have not had the chance to see him, as most of his shows are in southern Ontario. I can assure you that his show is one of the best around and I think that he took it to an even higher level, on Friday night.
Thanks Tim !

Stephen Kabakos - An Elvis Experience, March 4, 2006, Penticton, B.C. "A Tribute to Rock n' Roll"
My friend Lynda and I travelled to Penticton, B.C. for this amazing sold out fundraiser for Child Development, to hear Stephen Kabakos accompanied by "Appaloosa" and his back up girls. From the first song, Stephen's performance was fantastic! He is such a personable, high energy and charismatic entertainer. Singing songs such as "Teddy Bear", "King Cerole", "If I Can Dream", had the crowds wanting more. A highlight of the evening happened when Stephen asked Jeff Bodner, who did a great job as MC to join him for a few songs. When they sang "Kissin Cousins" the crowd went wild with excitement and laughter! Thank you very much Stephen for making the trip to beautiful B.C. and giving us an evening to remember! Elvis would be proud of Stephen's tribute to him! Diane Sawatzky, Chilliwack, B.C.

DAVID LEE -Georgia, March 2006
David Lee was awesome when I saw him in Georgia last weekend.  He had on a Vegas-style jumpsuit. He doesn’t think that he is Elvis.  He is a really nice guy. He put on such a great concert.  He was very laid back, told lots of jokes and sang my favourite tunes...”Promised Land,” “Wonder of You,” and “Fever.”  The fans were also nice to me. They were really friendly. We all had a great time.  My mother really  enjoyed it too.  David Lee threw teddy bears into the audience.  Well, David Lee, my God be with you and keep Elvis Presley’s memory alive through your voice.  Thanks for telling those funny jokes..I laughed my head off. God bless David Lee. Patrick Battersby, Ringold, Georgia

Sean Sharp and Charlie Cole, IV - Elvis Impersonation Contest - Lumberton, NC - February 25, 2006
At the recent annual Elvis Impersonation Contest in Lumberton we were privileged to meet two up and coming ETA's in Sean Sharp and Charlie Cole, IV. The free event is sponsored by the Lumberton Parks & Recreation every year as a way of giving back to the community. The special host was Keith Henderson who also performed. There were many good adult contestants but I was quite impressed with the kids who have never had the chance to see Elvis perform live. Sean is an 8 year old and Charlie is 10. How amazing that they even know who Elvis is in this day and time much less perform in his style. I hope to see them both again next year. Angie Sumter, Lumberton, NC
David was in Mobile on March 25th, 2006. We had the best night. He is wonderful! David really had the crowd going. There's not enough words to describe his talent. He has the true spirit of Elvis. He's sexy, has a wonderful voice, a sense of humor & a wonderful personality. David spends time with all his fans & he treats them so well, like they are part of his family. He has made a lot of new fans here. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. We can't wait to see him again. We have tried to listen to other people so call paying tribute to Elvis, but no one even comes close except for one man, and that is David Lee. Like there is only one Elvis - there is only one David Lee. Hope he returns to Mobile soon. We wish him the very best of luck in the Image of The King contest in August.

JEFF KRICK - in Bensalem, PA on March 24, 2006
On March 24th I went to my first ETA show ever. I heard a lot of good things about Jeff Krick and wanted to see for myself first hand. Let me tell you, he was everything I expected and then some. He put on a fantastic show and is truly a great performer. His CD doesn't do him any justice. You need to see him in person to really appreciate him. That man sure can sing and sounds so much like Elvis I was amazed!

There were a lot of happy women with smiles on their faces and tears in their eyes from the joy of reliving the memories of the King of Rock and Roll.
After the show Paul stayed until the last person left, taking pictures, signing anything they wanted autographed and truly making everyone feel special-young and old alike.
I’d highly recommend seeing one of Paul’s shows if you ever have the opportunity. I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Paul, keep on TCBing!! You’re GREAT and an awesome asset to the ETA world. Your total respect for the King of Rock and Roll is remarkable. Elvis would be proud. Thanks again from all of us for keeping the memories alive.
A Devoted Fan, Karen
ETA Paul Torrez, recent show in Denver, Colorado.
“Lord have Mercy” was all I could say after seeing the spectacular Valentine’s Day show, performed by ETA Paul Torrez, in Denver, Colorado.
Paul came walking in and immediately was bombarded by women of all ages. He talked to everyone and made them feel so special. A few fortunate ones got a big hug and kiss before he even made it to the stage.
Paul went backstage to change and you could feel the anticipation growing, the crowd getting excited, cameras ready to go and then it was Showtime.
Paul came out in his black leathers and everyone started screaming. The crowd was going CRAZY—screaming, yelling, snapping their fingers, swooning and totally reliving the days of old. The show was excellent.
Then a short intermission for everyone to regroup, get something to drink and get ready for the second half.
The music started playing, the lights were encircling the room and you’re right Ladies and Gentlemen it was Showtime once again. Paul came out in his white fringe jumpsuit and again the crowd went WILD!!! Paul did a fantastic show, his voice is absolutely beautiful and his moves to perfection. Then it was time for the scarves. What can one say except, try not to get hurt in the stampede.

JEFF KRICK - Bensalem, PA, March 24, 2006
On Friday, March 24th, Jeff Krick performed a sold out show in Bensalem, PA, and the promoter of the show announced that it broke all attendance records for an ETA show in Bensalem. Jeff always gives his performances his all, leaving his fans begging for more. Jeff performed two separate shows which were both outstanding. He has the stage presence and charisma that Elvis did, all the while knowing that no one could ever replace the one and only Elvis. Jeff's rendition of "Fever" drove the fans wild! What moves! What a voice too! He always sings a variety of Elvis' songs, rock, country, gospel and everything in between. Singing Elvis' version of "Unchained Melody" he was unbelievable! He always gets several standing ovations and Friday night was no exception. Jeff tries to get in all the requests made, and is never too busy to spend time with his fans after the show signing autographs, taking pictures, etc. Jeff's website is www.jeffkrick.piczo.com - check it out for his latest schedule, concert photos, etc. Thank you, Jeff, for keeping the memory alive!

Will Ganzon - Ottawa Casino, April 1st, 2006
I went to Oshawa's Ladyluck Contest and saw Will Ganzon sing a couple of songs. To my surprise, he came to Ottawa's Casino last Sat. night, April 1st and he did an awesome 4 hour show.
He sounded so much like Elvis that sometimes I had chills. His high - energy and charisma won the crowd over quickly and they chanted,"ELVIS ELVIS ELVIS"
I felt like I had spent an evening with The King in Vegas. He made each person feel like he was singing directly to them.
Will did all the moves and the 4 hours flew by...it was like a great party.
I hope he comes back again soon. Everyone had a ball!!

On Saturday, March 25th, Jeff Krick performed a show with Elvis' back up group The Stamps Quartet. Before the show even began you could feel the electricity in the air. The Stamps performed alone for about 35 minutes singing gospel songs to a captive audience. Then Jeff came out on stage. With the resounding applause, you would have thought that Elvis entered the building! Jeff wore the Dragon Jumpsuit which looked stunning when the stage lights made it shimmer. The show was about two hours long, and from beginning to end Jeff performed every song with all the enthusiasm and passion he always does when doing his Tribute to Elvis. After his performance, Jeff and the Stamps took time to meet and greet the fans, sign autographs, take pictures, etc. This was a sensational concert....one never to be forgotten. The good news is that another concert has already been scheduled for next year with the Stamps Quartet on March 31, 2007. For more information on upcoming shows check out Jeff's website at www.jeffkrick.piczo.com.

Robin Kelly - Calgary, April 15-16, 2006
Robin Kelly rocked Calgary Easter Weekend.
Friday nights crowd kept yelling out songs for Robin to sing and he pleased them all singing most a cappella. What a voice that boy has.
Saturday nights crowd was up dancing the night away with Robin joining them on the dance floor for a bit of the twist. The crowd roared when Robin left the stage but to their pleasure he came back and sang several songs a cappella with 2 closing songs I'll Remember You dedicated to Elvis and King of the Whole Wide World.
Awesome shows as always Robin.....Keep on Rockin

What can I say about seeing TWO of the world's best Elvis Tribute Artists at the same show? WOW! Chris and Doug both did individual sets using backing tracks. The audience applauded and cheered with every shake of fringe or swoop of cape! Then they came out together, and did an entire acoustic set with their guitars for the crowd! AMAZING! As an added bonus, Jesse Aron happened to be in the audience that night. Chris and Doug convinced Jesse to sing a number for the crowd, too! It was a great night of music and laughter for those lucky enough to attend! Be sure to visit their web sites:

A few weeks ago I went to a show in Surprise, AZ. with the featured performer being Paul Spoonmore, a local ETA. It was located in the banquet room of a local buffet holding roughly 100 people. It was a sell out and after "Johnny Cash, John Fogerty and Englebert," warmed things up Paul came on.
Paul is an airline mechanic and has been working on his tribute show for the last year and a half. Beginning reluctantly at first, after having to be coaxed into his first show, he is continuing to refine his performances. What started out as just an occasional Karaoke gig has grown into over dozens of Elvis' songs that Paul puts his heart into. And a big heart it is, as he has done numerous benefits for the people who are in need because of hardships caused by health problems or just unfortunate events life has burdened them with.
He performs at a lot of senior centers and loves the response he receives. He also uses these opportunities to add a few more gospel numbers to his routine (his favorite Elvis music) other than the normal spoon full of three or four. He is a local favorite and it's starting to show as he is booked already this year into the month of October.
As he came on you could tell he was going to feed off the crowd as they were very animated that night. His energy level was very high and he gave all he had to the people who came to see him. The show lasted between two and three hours and I don't think anyone left without a scarf. He sang to his mother who doesn't miss a show. The night was very enjoyable and the crowd loved him. I think that in the future we may just be hearing a lot more about Paul Spoonmore, Jess, AZ

Dan Burgess- Recent show, Ottawa, Ontario
I had the pleasure of seeing one of my favourite ETA's - Dan Burgess in Ottawa, Ontario. Dan's charm made each and every one of his fans feel special and it seemed like he was singing directly to each one of us. His voice is so strong and powerful and when he sings "Hurt" I actually had goosebumps as I had seen Elvis perform that song in Buffalo, NY, many years ago.
What a super performer! He brought back very special memories with his beautiful voice. My sister received a scarf and teddy bear from him and she was so excited. After his performance, he got a standing ovation and came around to all the tables to thank everyone for coming to his show. He made himself available to any who wanted pictures or autographs. What a great performer and very special person!
