The 9th Annual Collingwood Elvis Festival was a huge success...bigger and better than ever, with over 100 ETA's competing for the title of Grand Champion. Congratulations to the winners of the professional, non-professional and youth competitions (Gino Monopoli, Jeff Bodner, Zachary Peddie).
The Collingwood weekend, as always, was chock-full of activities, fun, and Elvis music from start to finish. The famous Collingwood 7-hour Friday night street party showcased just about all the ETA’s who were in town for the weekend. The first part of Saturday night's wonderful headliner show highlighted Elvis' 30 No. l Hits, and featured Robin Kelly, Ray Guillemette, Jr., and Matt King..with a special appearance by each of Paul Fracassi, Darrin Hagel, and Stephen Kabakos. The second part of the show was a re-creation of the Aloha from Hawaii concert and highlighted the talents of the incomparable Doug Church who absolutely wowed the audience and received well-deserved standing ovations throughout his outstanding performance. All the performers were backed by the ExSpence Account Band.
Special VIP guests, Joe Esposito and DJ Fontana, who are always fan favourites, returned again this year and they were also joined by the delightful Suzanna Leigh (a co-star in one of Elvis’ movies).
Congratulations and thanks to the Collingwood Elvis Festival committees, volunteers,
and participants for a job well done!
